logo fit sinnombre              On 23rd and 24th of April, it was held the I Scientific Campus organized by the Foro de Ingeniería del Transporte at the Residencia Lucas Olazábal UPM in Cercedilla, Madrid. The Campus was aimed to disseminate and exchange ideas of doctoral research advances in the area of transport.

 

 

IMG 0600A total of 50 people, including PhD students, professors, and transport experts, attended the Campus organized into four sessions over two days. A total of 23 doctoral students, coming from 10 Spanish universities, presented their research progress on issues such as private vehicle, road infrastructure, environment impact, economics and planning, port infrastructure, the city, transportation services and modeling.

 

The campus was set in a natural environment in the Fuenfría Valley in the National Park of Guadarrama, which helped to take extra activities like a walk in the Roman Road of Puerto Fuenfría, or a Trivial about transport and history that won the “Transiberian” team.

 

The campus was closed with the delivery of diplomas and awards. Two partners from TRANSyT were awarded.

        Andrés García Martínez won the first prize for the best paper presented at the I Scientific Campus for his paper entitle “Car consumption and emissions models base don average speed by incorporating urban driving patterns”.

Paola Bueno Cadena was awarded with an “accesit” for her work “Measuring the distributional impact of Madrid’s public transport subsidy policy: Does income explain travel pass usage
